The following is a study abroad account of my trip to Mexico in 1996. I studied in Guadalajara at the Centro de Ideomas and in Mazatlán with classmates from Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University). This was my first trip to Mexico, at the time I had studied two years worth of college level Spanish.

The reason for the trip was two fold, to amass as many credits towards graduation as possible, as well as meet new people in strange places speaking a different language.

Some of the most memorable things of the trip were: Initial Attempts at Speaking Spanish, my Alaskan Roommate, Practical Juice Jokes, Full-contact Kung Fu Classes, Skydiving, Climbing Mt. Guanajuato, Chess with Carlos, Silvia, Body Surfing, Total Dark Tan, and Tele-Novelas.
